When I was in my 30's my friends tried to throw a surprise party for me. The party was amazing but I had learned about it weeks prior due to a typical slip up from a friend.
Surprises are just hard to pull off but that did not deter this family from trying. When it is your Mom's 70th birthday, you pull out all the stops to let her know how valued and loved she is. The first part of her birthday surprise involved celebrating it on Oahu. What an amazing gift in and of itself but here is the best part: Her kids and her grandchildren were also going to fly to Oahu and honor her for her 70th Birthday. They wanted to mark the special occasion by scheduling a photo shoot so we captured these photos at Waimanalu Beach Park just before sunset.
