You're still the one that can make me laugh.
Still the one that's my better half.
We're still having fun and you're still the one.

What do you do when it is raining?
Normally there is a sunny spot somewhere on the island but for the past week we had been almost covered in rain. As an artist, the prospect of getting photos of a rain drenched couple is appealing but it is not the clients ideal.
Erica and I touched base the day before and decided to just go for it even though the forecast was not great. We met at Kahana Bay and it was overcast but not raining. We persevered and were rewarded with dry weather and deep lush green mountains. It was perfect.
I have been taking pictures of Erica and Derek for a couple of years now and this was going to be their last session before they move off island. They are always fun to work with because they are easy going and they joke around. I know that his has been a hard year of loss for them but I could see that it drew them together. They chose laughter, joy, and clinging to each other and that makes all the difference.
After our session I sent them to our favorite restaurant in the area: Papa Oles. Best Teriyaki Beef on the island!
